Tesla Unveils Next-Gen Roadster Live at SpaceX McGregor: Fan Suction Inverted Driving, Mid-Air Flip over Semi, and 0–60 mph in 0.59s via Cold-Gas Thrusters
Nearly nine years after its 2017 concept reveal, Tesla hosted a live unveiling of the second-generation Roadster at SpaceX's McGregor rocket test facility in Texas. Using an active underbody fan suction system and SpaceX cold-gas thrusters fed by carbon-fiber COPV tanks, the prototype drove upside down on a curved ramp, executed a mid-air barrel roll recovery, and vaulted over a lineup of Tesla vehicles including a Semi truck. Offered in Performance (<1.6s, $50k deposit), Thrust (<0.9s, $250k deposit), and invite-only single-seat Rocket (<0.59s) trims, production is tentatively targeted for 2028.

X discussion: Anthropic engineering manager Felix Rieseberg says he dropped coding interviews for his team, arguing "hunger beats tenure", and the post passes 1M views
Felix Rieseberg, whose X bio says he builds things at Anthropic, posted on Oct 27 that the coding interview is "dead, at least for my team at Anthropic" and that he removed it from his hiring loops this month, linking an essay titled "Hunger beats tenure" with advice for junior engineers. The post drew about 9,500 likes, over 1 million views and more than 10,000 bookmarks, sparking wide debate. This is his personal view and his teams practice, not an official Anthropic hiring policy.

Google's Gemma team says Gemini 4 Argon wrote vLLM optimizations that speed up gemma-4-E2B-it 2.85x on an A100
On Oct 26, Google's official @googlegemma account said a set of vLLM optimizations built with Gemini 4 Argon lifted gemma-4-E2B-it throughput on a single A100 from about 37,900 to 108,000+ tokens/sec, roughly 2.85x, with 100% token parity. The PRs were filed by Luciano Martins of Google DeepMind, and most are still under review.
